Obituary for Joan Gowen Joan Gowen, 90, of Bicknell, IN, passed away Sunday July 1, 2018 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus with her family at her bedside. Joan was born September 29, 1927 in Knox County the daughter of John L and Ethel Frederick Halter. She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy and she married Robert V. Gowen who preceded her in death on September 6, 2000. Joan worked at various florist shops and loved floral arrangement design. She attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Bicknell, IN. She is survived by her children, Janet LeFevre, and her husband Scott of Westphalia, IN, and her son, Mike Gowen, and his wife Linda of Marengo, IN. She is also survived by her sisters in law, Betty Halter and Norma Halter of Vincennes, IN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 3 brothers, Johnny Halter in infancy, Charles "Charlie" Halter and Frederick "Fritz" Halter. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 5, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Funeral Home with Fr. David Fleck officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 Until the time of the service.
