Obituary for John E. "Zeke" Smith John E. "Zeke" Smith, 73, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Monday January 15, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Zeke was born November 10, 1944 in Vincennes the son of John B. and Marjorie E. Lynch Smith. He was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School, served as a life guard during high school days at the Old Rainbow Beach and worked as a welder through the IBEW at various power plants. He served his country during the Vietnam war in the U. S. Navy and he was a former member of the American Legion. He married Pamela Jones on January 24, 1977 and they made their life together for nearly 41 years. He is survived by his wife, Pam Smith, children, John R. Smith of Clarksville, TN, Elizabeth Ann Fisher of Vincennes, IN, Andrew "Archie" Smith of Wheatland, IN and Sherry Beamon of Monroe City, IN. Nine grandchildren, 3 great grandchild, brothers, Paul W. Smith of Vincennes, David R. Smith of Ragsdale, IN and a sister, Vickie A. Smith of Vincennes, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Craig Grizzle and a sister Judy Kay Mayhorn. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday January 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Harley Archer officiating He will be laid to rest privately. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor's charity of choice.
