Kenneth "JR" Lewis, known lovingly by his grandchildren as "Pappy", passed away at the age of 65 at his residence in Vincennes on Saturday, July 19, 2025.  JR was born May 17, 1960, in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Kenneth Lewis and Dorothy Dale Frederick Lewis.  He was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and formally worked for Republic Services in Vincennes for many years.  JR lived his faith by his actions with everyone, and he never met a stranger.  He married Anette Patten on March 31 2001 and they made their life together loving their grandchildren and all of the children in their neighborhood, young and old.

JR is survived by his wife, Anette, his son Kenneth "Zachary" Dale Lewis (Noel) and two stepdaughters, Addison Davis Blose (Jason) of Myrtle Beach SC and Corbin Davis Adams (Logan) of Vincennes.  JR was blessed with four grandchildren,  whom he worshipped, Will Malott, Gracie Lewis, Beau Lewis and Everleigh Lewis.  He is survived by two sisters, Angie (Sharpie) Sharp and Becky (Ron Flaharty) Alka and one nephew, Briar Flaharty, all of Mt. Carmel IL

A visitation will be held on, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm with A Celebration of Life beginning at 6pm, at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the local Vincennes Food Bank in JR's memory.
