Obituary

Larry E. Keene, 71, of Vincennes, passed away Sunday April 2, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Larry was born October 13, 1951 in Vincennes the son of Robert Max and Mary Catherine Malone Keene. Larry joined the U.S. Air Force having risen to the rank of TSgt as a master fuel supervisor, serving in Vietnam. After his service in Vietnam, he continued his career in the Air Force until he was disabled and retired after over 20 years of service. He was a proud Veteran and loved to joke and tease everyone he liked. Larry held memberships in the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Bruceville Rod and Gun Club, The French Club and the 40 et 8.

Larry is survived by his remaining sibling, Roy Keene, and his wife Debbie of Ragsdale, IN and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Vernon "Vernie" Keene, sisters, Bertha Lagneau, Elma Lee Hollars, Minnie A. Phipps, Jean May, Kay McCrary, Susie Ellerman, Charlotte Smith, Phyllis Keene and Julie Shoptaw.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday April 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Jon McKinnon officiating. Full Military honors will be afforded him by Scott Air Force Base. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel Wednesday April 12, 2023. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor's charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw is honored to assist Larry's family during their time of loss.
