Linda Marie (Eck) Shanklin passed away Friday, August 1, 2025.

Linda was the daughter of Frank Jr. and Mary Margaret (Cary) Eck.  She married Vernon A. (Chip) Shanklin, who survives her, on February 14, 1971, and they made their life together for over 54 years.

Also surviving are siblings Nancy (Jim) Grubb, Joan Schulze, Sue Ellen McClure, David (Leigh Anne) Eck, Doug Eck and Mary Angela (Randy) Ernst and brothers-in-law Rick (Shari) Shanklin, Chris Shanklin and Steve Shanklin.

"Aunt Ree" loved her nieces and nephews who brought great joy to her life.

Linda's parents preceded her in death along with Chip's parents, Dr. Jack and Jean Shanklin and her brother-in-law, Stephen McClure.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. The family will receive friends at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, 521 Vigo Street from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Linda will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to St. Vincent DePaul Society (1604 Main St., Vincennes, IN 47591) or charity of choice.  Due to the construction on Vigo St, access to the funeral home parking can be made from the Church Street access points.
