Obituary for Martha Jane Thompson Martha "Jane" Thompson of Vincennes, formerly of Lawrenceville, IL entered into eternal rest with her family at her bedside Monday, March 21, 2022, at the age of 90. Jane was born August 30, 1931, in Evansville, IN to Marcellus and Catherine (Krack) Knapp. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She married James H. Thompson on April 25, 1950, and they lived happily together for 44 years. As a homemaker, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.   She is survived by her children, Dorothy J. Fish and her husband John of Vincennes, Rosalind J. Shade of Vincennes, and Tracy L. Gross and her husband David of Vincennes. Her grandchildren, James W. Shade and his companion Jaimie Tate, Jason Fish and his wife Courtney, Christopher Fish and his wife Nicole, Ashley Tolliver and her husband Travis, William Gosnell-Burton and his husband Darin Burton, Kathleen Johnson and her husband Benjamin. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and her brother William Knapp and his wife Mary.    She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her stepmother Margaret (Dalp) Knapp, three brothers Stanley, Marcellus and Francis Knapp, a sister Doris Graham, and step brothers Robert "Bob" Whitehouse and Jack Whitehouse.   Celebration of life will be held Monday, March 28, 2022, from 11:00am until time of service at 2:00pm at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, IL. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Knox County Humane Society, Good Samaritan Hospice or Vincennes Pet Port. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist the Thompson family during their time of loss.
