Michael E. Smith, 73, of Emison, IN, passed away Friday December 23, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Mike was born April 10, 1949 in Kokomo, IN the son of Wilbur E. and Patty L. Perryman Smith. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and he worked as a machinist/punch press operator for Diamond Chain Co. He was a member of the Methodist faith, an avid reader of many kinds of literature; he enjoyed fishing and was a devoted husband and father. He married Peggy Wissel and they enjoyed their life together.

Mike is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Smith, his children, Krista Smith, Michelle Smith, Chad Smith all of Shelbyville, IN, Gary Woolard II of Bicknell, IN, and Mark A. Clark JR. of Vincennes, IN. Grandchildren, Hope Riley Spurlock, Tyler Woolard and Kenzlee Woolard. He is also survived by a brother, Frank Smith of Poseyville, IN.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Patty Smith and a sister, Debbie Carpenter.

Funeral services for Mike will be held privately at his request. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor's charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist Mike's family during their time of loss.
