Obituary for N. Irene Malone N. Irene Malone, 85, of Edwardsport, IN, passed away Thursday April 26, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Irene was born March 17, 1933 in Allendale, IL, the daughter of Harley and Helen Guisewite Mills. She graduated in 1954 from the Good Samaritan Nursing School and formerly was a surgical nurse for many years. She was a member of Bicknell First Wesleyan church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She held a membership in the Red Hat Society, and was a member of the Eastern Star. She also volunteered for the Red Cross. She is survived by her son Mark Malone and his wife Cindy. Her grandchild Jessica Parker and her husband Keith. Her great-grandchild Kyson Parker. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Malone, and her sisters Eleanor Frederick and Kathryn Frederick. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Rev. Mark Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home, with a Nursing Honor Guard service at 7 PM. In lieu flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospital surgical department or North Knox Boys or Girls basketball programs.
