Obituary for Everett D. Johnson
Everett D. Johnson, 88, of Bicknell, IN passed away Friday February 14, 2020 at his residence at 2:29 PM. Everett was born November 1, 1931 in Freelandville, IN the son of Clyde and Leona Sampson Johnson. He was a graduate of Freelandville High School and worked for 39 years at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was one of the founders of Bicknell Pilgrim Holiness Church and was an active member of the church. He loved to read, listen to music and played various keyboard instruments that included the organ, piano and accordion. He served his country in the U. S. Army as a medic and attained the rank of Sergeant.
Everett is survived by his son’s, Richard Spaulding of Bicknell and Dean Spallon of Terre Haute, IN. His grandson’s Tony Spallon, Christopher Spallon and Cody. He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Morrow of Bicknell, IN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Bicknell Pilgrim Holiness Church with Pastor Morris Ray McCrary officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel and an hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist Everett’s family during their time of loss.
