Obituary for Lois I. Conrad
Lois I. Conrad, 87, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Saturday March 14, 2020 at the home of her great-great niece in Switz City, IN. Lois was born October 19, 1932 in Carlisle the daughter of Ora and Edna Williams Shoptaw. She was a graduate of Plainville High School and she married George R. Conrad who preceded her in death. Together they moved to Florida and she began a quest to help Special Needs Children. She helped by volunteering for anything to help the Special Needs Children. She went on to school to become a Realtor in the State of Florida and was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She was proud of being the mother of 4 son’s.
Lois is survived by her remaining son, Aaron Conrad of Merritt Island, FL, her Great Nieces and Nephew, who took care of her, Kim Dutton, Treasa Provanzano, David Nail and Tamara Knackmus and many other great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son’s, George II, Bryant and Chris Conrad, her parents, 4 brothers, George Shoptaw, Richard Shoptaw, Roscoe Shoptaw and Bobby Shoptaw and 3 sisters, Emma Myers, Virginia Page and a sister in infancy.
A gathering to celebrate of her life will be held on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home form 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Conrad family during their time of loss.
