Obituary for Ray E. Houck
Obituary for Ray E. Houck Ray E. Houck, 84, of Vincennes, joined his wife of 60 years at 8:00 PM January 16, 2012. He passed away at the New Willow Manor Nursing Center. He was born March 18, 1927 in Vincennes the son of Carl J. & Julia Field Houck. He worked for several years at Bryant Chevrolet in the parts department and worked for the Vincennes Sun Commercial in maintenance. He served his country during WW II in the U. S. Army. He was married to Anna M. Alton for over 60 years. He would complete general maintenance and yard work for various people in the community and he would repair small lawn equipment for resale. He rode his bicycle all over Vincennes to appointments to help his friends and neighbors. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers, Harold J Houck and Don Houck, and a sister Louise Boschma. Joint Funeral services will be conducted Friday January 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Fr. David Fleck officiating. He will be laid to rest along with his wife in the Memorial Park cemetery. The family receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Thursday.
