Obituary for Donald E. Doyle
Obituary for Donald E. �Duck� Doyle Donald E. �Duck� Doyle, 81, of Vincennes, passed away Monday January 26, 2015 with his family at his bedside. He was born April 30, 1933 in Washington, IN the son of William and Ethel Carrico Doyle. He was a 1951 graduate of Lincoln High School and he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the Army medical corps. He married Helen Summers on October 24, 1959 and they made their life together for 55 years. During his working career, he was a sales representative for Huntington Labs for over 30 years and he retired as a representative for the Hoosier Lottery. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the K of C and Elks. He held memberships in the American Legion, VFW, 40et8, Moose and he formerly was an active member of the Harmony Society. He served his community as a member of the Board of Cemetery Regents for Vincennes, he enjoyed national, state and local politics. He was an avid golfer and all sports. He loved music and singing Karaoke. He was devoted to his family, faith and community. He is survived by his wife, Helen Doyle, their son, Steven Doyle of Vincennes, 2 brothers, Jack Doyle of Indianapolis, IN and Jerry Doyle, and his wife Judy of Vincennes, IN. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael in 1989, his parents and a brother, Patrick Doyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday January 30, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Pascal Nduka officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his son in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 29, 2015 from 3 to 6 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to Good Samaritan Hospice.
