Obituary for Joseph E. Catt
Obituary for Joseph E. Catt Joseph E. Catt, 81, of Westphalia, passed away at the New Willow Manor Nursing Center on January 28, 2014 with his family at his bedside. He was born June 9, 1932 in Princeton, IN, the son of Melvin & Gertrude Troxler Catt. He was a graduate of Edwardsport High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married Anita Volle on May 21, 1952 and they made their life together for 61 years. He was a farmer at heart and worked the farm, worked on the railroad and was a coalminer. He was a member of the Edwardsport United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He is survived by his family, his wife of 61 years, Anita Catt, their children, Randy Catt, and his wife Michelle of Vincennes and Linda Catt Duke, and her companion Robin Helderman of Edwardsport, IN and Angie Catt Moulton of Venice, FL Grandchildren, Ryan Catt, Becky Catt, Robbie Catt, Andrew Catt, Aaron Catt, Brad Dillon, Ashley Herrmann, Alicia Hettich, Shelby Helderman, Great Grandchildren, Benjamin Dillon, Trevor Dillon, Peyton Catt-Krohn and Robbie Catt Jr. He is also survived by a brother, Floyd Catt, and his wife Laura of Greenwood, IN, and a sister, Frances Stoelting, and her husband John of Vincennes, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Mel Catt, Anthony Catt, Robert L. Catt, Leona Mounts, Mable Catt, Betty Mason and Mary Jane Gustafson. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday February 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel, Bicknell with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Westphalia Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Friday January 31, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Edwardsport United Methodist Church.
