Obituary for Diane L. (Bratton) Preusz
Diane L. (Bratton) Preusz, 89, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020 at her residence with her family at her bedside. Diane was born August 14, 1931 in Vincennes the daughter of Arnold M. and Hazel Dare Bratton. She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy, on January 12, 1952 she married William Robert “Bob” Preusz and they made their life together until his death on January 23, 2015. Diane retired from Lincoln High School as a secretary and held memberships in Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Town and Country Extension Homemakers and formerly a member of the Jaycees wifes. She was a devoted member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (Old Cathedral), a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Susan Nesbitt, and her husband Don of Vincennes, Michael Preusz of Vincennes and Judy Jerrell, and her husband, Richard “Rick” of Vincennes. Their grandchildren, William “Will” Nesbitt and his wife Laura, Eric Nesbitt, and his wife Dr. Lindsay Nesbitt, Erica Lynn Preusz, Aaron Preusz, Jacob Preusz, Katelyn Preusz, Cory Jerrell and Justin Jerrell and his wife Amanda. Her great grandchildren Sophia Nesbitt, Jackson Nesbitt, Ella Nesbitt, William “Liam” Nesbitt, Gunnar Nesbitt, Quinley Jerrell and Fallon Jerrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Preusz, her parents, a brother, John Bratton and two sisters Maxine Catt and Patricia “Pat” Bratton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Old Cathedral with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospice or the Vincennes Pet Port. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist the Preusz family during their time of loss.
