Obituary for John M. Dailey
John M. Dailey, 82, of Vincennes, passed away at 8:07 AM Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. John was born October 16, 1934 in Vincennes the son of Charles C. and Evelyn Siewers Dailey. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and attained an AS degree. He served his country in the U. S. Army and on August 1, 1959 he married Betty Shank and they made their life together for nearly 58 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3rd degree member of the K of C and took great pride being an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He worked at the Packaging Corporation for over 35 years. He formerly was a member of the Rod and Gun Club. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Dailey, their children, Susan D. Goodman of Indianapolis, IN, John Charles Dailey of Evansville, IN and Katherine Swalls of Mt. Juliet, TN. His grandchildren, Karl W. Goodman, Ryan Swalls, Adam Swalls, Hannah Swalls and Sarah Swalls. He is also survived by 2 great grandsons, Ethan Swalls and Duke Swalls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles C. Dailey Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society in his memory.
