Obituary for William P. "Tike" Leigh
William P. "Tike" Leigh, 73, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Friday January 21, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Tike was born March 12, 1948 in Vincennes the son of William Clarence and Helen Lorene Carter Leigh. He was a graduate of North Knox High School and worked as a welder for Johnson Control's, B&O railroad and the oil fields in the Illinois Basin. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and anything with his family. He was a member of the Bicknell Wesleyan Church. He married Mary Jane Tincher and they made their life together for 54 years.
Tike is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Leigh, their children, Christopher Leigh and his wife Donna of Vincennes, Marty Leigh, and his wife Peggy of Cisne, IL, Travis Leigh of Bruceville, IN and 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Leigh of Bloomfield, IN, Charlotte Eubank of Nashville, TN, Janice Hernandez of Vincennes, IN, Brenda Sheridan of Flat Rock, IL and Pam Smith of Monroe City, IN.
Tike was preceded in death by a grandson, Brady Leigh, his parents and a sister, Carol Chambers.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday January 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family receive friends Thursday January 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to any local outdoorsman organization. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Leigh family during their time of loss.
