Obituary for Lorie Lynn Smith
Lorie Lynn "Oliver" Smith, 62, of Flat Rock, IL, passed away Thursday January 5, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN with her family at her bedside. Lorie was born September 29, 1960 in Vincennes the daughter of Raymond and Delores Charlton Oliver. Lorie was a graduate of Lincoln High School and worked at Vincennes University Physical Maintenance Department. She married Philip C. “Butch” Smith and they made their life together for over 35 years. She attended Thursday Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Lorie is survived by her husband Phillip C. “Butch” Smith, their children, Shane Smith of Vincennes, IN, Julie A Ramirez, and her husband Jorge of Vincennes, IN, Bradley Smith, and his wife Dana of Gallatin, TN and Tiffany Smith of Vincennes, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daylynn Gibson, Laedun Stitt, Kayzli Coughlin, Lennon Coughlin, Hendrix Coughlin, Wendy West (Seth), Nadia Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, Carlos Ramirez, Renee` John, Alex Webb Ally Smith Corinne Smith and 7 great grandchildren. Lorie’s brothers, Mike Oliver, Kevin Oliver, her sisters, Rayetta Mincey (Bud), and Mary Cummings, all of Vincennes, IN also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday January 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday January 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Vincennes Animal Shelter. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Lorie’s family during their time of loss.
