Obituary for Debra L. Staley
Debra L. Staley, 63, of Washington, IN, passed away at her home July 14, 2023 with her family at her bedside. Debra was born December 12, 1959 in Vincennes the daughter of Samuel David Allen and Avis Nicholson Allen Rattliff. She was a graduate of Loogootte High School and Vincennes University receiving an AS degree in Business. She worked at Vincennes University as a supervisor in the Housing Department. She married Rick Staley on March 8, 1976 and they made their life together for 47 years. Debra was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and served as a Past State President of the Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, Bingo, Camping, 4 wheeling and sewing. She lived her faith by her daily actions. She gave to anyone who needed her help.
Debra is survived by her husband, Rick Staley, children, Tiffany Hyneman and her husband Steve of Bicknell, IN, Elizabeth Tinsman, and her husband Paul of Rochester, IN, Samantha Heishman of Bicknell, IN and Dottie Crouch, and her husband Scott of Wheatland, IN. Grandchildren, Geoffrey Phillippe, Macie Hyneman, Dakota (Cody) Ellerman, Anthony Tinsman, Katlynn Tinsman, Dalton Heishman, Rilya Heishman and Quaylin (DD) Jackson, Brynlee Heishman, Kashtyn Heishman, Dallas Fredrick, Tabitha Fredrick and Abigail Fredrick. 8 Great Grandchildren, brothers, Larry Allen, David Allen both of Vincennes, Harold Allen of Charlotte, TX, Bobby Allen, of Vincennes, Randy Allen and his wife Julie of Vincennes, IN, sisters, Mary Pickett of Nashville, TN, Gloria Williams, and her husband Tom of Vincennes and Sandy Moyer of Vincennes, IN.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clifford Allen and Jerry Allen and a sister Annie Woodsmall.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday July 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, with Capt. Karla Salsbury officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of services at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to her family to help defray expenses of her last illness. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Staley family during their time of loss.
