Obituary for Charles L. Boyd
Charles L. Boyd, 78, of Vincennes, IN, passed away April 14, 2024 at Select Hospital in Evansville with his family at his bedside. Charles was born July 11, 1945 in Vincennes, IN the son of Charles L Sr. and Doris Higgins Boyd. He was a graduate of North Knox High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Sysco and worked at Toyota Boahoku of Illinois. His true passion was farming on his family farm. He was a member of the VFW, Methodist Church in Bruceville and loved to go to tractor shows. He married Florence Lancaster on June 25, 1977 and they made their life together for nearly 47 years.
Charles is survived by his wife, Florence Boyd, his special nephews, Joseph Lancaster and Thomas Lancaster, his sisters in law, Cindy (Bruce)Helderman, Julie Lancaster, Brenda Warner and Joan Hampton. He is also survived by his brother Marvin (Patricia) Boyd of Vincennes, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Earl Boyd, and brothers in law, Randy Lancaster and Harvey Lancaster.
Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday April 18, 2024 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery with military gravesite honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
