Obituary for Barbara B. Gray
Barbara B. Gray, 90, of Vincennes passed away at her residence on July 22, 2018. She was born on August 30, 1927 in Evansville IN, the daughter of Leslie and Marie Batt Badollet. She was a direct descendent of John Badollet, who was appointed Land Registrar of Vincennes by President Thomas Jefferson, and was Knox County delegate to the Indiana Constitutional Convention and was a charter member of Vincennes University Board of Trustees. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Vincennes University. She married R. Dean Gray on April 16, 1946 and they made their life together for 52 years until his death in 1998. She worked for the phone company and then co-owned and operated Gray’s Jewelry. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and formerly active in various community events in Vincennes.
She is survived by her children Terry Gray and his wife Kelly of Fate, TX, Cory Gray and his wife Ginger of Richmond, IN, and Mark Gray and his wife Ginger of Austin, TX. Her grandchildren Amy Mussellman and her husband Tim, Janie Schloth and her husband Patrick , Kelly Amos and her husband Matt, Paige Gray, Aaryn Gray, Christine Gray and her husband Robert, Spencer Gray and his wife Brandi, Olivia Waters and her husband Jeff, Aaron Maass and his wife Christina, Kara Hooton and her husband Todd and 10 great-Grandchildren. A sister Kay Huffman and her husband Ivan of Grand River, KY.
She was preceded by her husband Dean Gray, her parents, her brother William Badollet, sister Marcia Howard, and her Aunt and Uncle Irene and Stanley Gray.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be conducted on Friday July 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery Tower 1 Mausoleum with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. She will be entombed next to her husband, Dean. Memorial contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in her memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
