Obituary for Lon J. Haney
Lon J. Haney, 82, of Bicknell, IN passed away July 25, 2018 at 12:05 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Lon was born February 6, 1936 in Crane, IN the son of Royal and Geniveve Riggle Haney. He was a self taught Tool & Die maker having worked at Potter & Brumfield in Princeton, IN until his retirement. He was an avid musician playing the guitar, organ/keyboards and he loved to sing. He married Janice Wools on June 17, 1955 and they made their life together for 63 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed his family and loved a good practical joke.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Haney, their children, Cheryl Presnal, and her husband Charles of Princeton, IN and Lonnie Haney Jr, and his wife Abby of Bicknell, IN. Their grandchildren, Jeremy Presnal, Angela Wallace, Kimberly Goldbach, Lonnie Joe Haney, Kayla Goff and Kasey Polk. He was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Max Haney of Edwardsport, IN, Jerry Haney, and his wife Betty of Bicknell, IN, and a sister, Timerline Walker, and her husband Charles of Orland, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Pruitt.
Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday July 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel in Bicknell, IN. He will be laid to rest in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Green County, IN. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Family to assist Kimberly Goldbach with her medical expenses.
