Obit for Rita M. Keller
Rita M. Keller, 79, of Vincennes, passed away Thursday October 3, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville with her family at her bedside. Rita was born March 19, 1945 in Vincennes, the daughter of Bernard and Aline McKee Blake. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and continued her education receiving a LPN license. She married Matt Keller on January 25, 1969 and together they made their life together for over 55 years. Rita worked at the Gentlecare Nursing Home for 32 years until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church/St Vincent Parish and was a member of the altar society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and soon to be a great grandmother.
Rita is survived by her husband, Matt Keller, their sons, Jason (Christy) Keller and Brian Keller both of Vincennes, IN. Her beloved grandchildren, Kieran Keller, Anastasia (J.T.) Kent, Matthew-Jeffrey Keller and her soon to be born great granddaughter, Rosalee Kent. She is also survived by a sister, Brenda Hayden of Vincennes, IN. A niece Melinda Rogers and a nephew, Rusty Rogers
Rita was preceded in death by a son, Matthew A. Keller and her parents, Bernard and Aline Blake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her son in St. Vincent Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 8, 2024 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Vincent Cemetery Fund. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Rita’s family during their time of loss.
