Obituary for Leonard A. Bilskie Sr.
Leonard A. Bilskie Sr., 86 of Oaktown, passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Leonard was born September 10, 1932 in Knox County the son of Louis and Mary Cary Bilskie. He was a independent truck driver having drove for Bilskie Trucking. He married Marilyn Carrie and they made their life together until her death on October 1, 2016. Leonard served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lifetime member of the D.A.V. and a former member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his sons, James L. Bilskie Sr. and his wife Tami of Oaktown and Larry W. Bilskie also of Oaktown, IN. He will be missed by his numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Bilskie, two son’s Jeff Bilskie and Leonard A. Bilskie Jr., 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday December 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Ackerman officiating. He will be laid to rest with his wife and son’s in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Gravesite Military honors will will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad.The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Bilskie Family.
