Obituary for Anita L. Blice


Anita Blice (83) died on September 8th , 2025 at Aperion Care in Vincennes, Indiana. Anita was born in Vincennes in 1942 to the late Willard and Virginia Goodson. She graduated from Lincoln High School where she participated in Band and accompanied the Choir. She then attended Vincennes University where she accompanied the VU Ensemble and Indiana State University where she earned her degree in Secondary Education. After teaching English at Washington High School, she returned to ISU and earned her degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement. She taught Kindergarten at La Salle and Vigo Schools in the Vincennes Community School District. She and her sister, Gay, owned and operated two business. “Heirloom Haus”, a folk- art painting and teaching studio, and “Something Special”, a gift basket store and service.


Her passion was playing the piano and organ. Anita played her first wedding ceremony music at 12 years old. At 15, she became the fulltime organist for North United Methodist Church, which she did for almost 40 years. She was also a substitute organist for St. John’s Lutheran and Christian Scientist Churches. She and her husband served as sponsors for the Senior High School youth group at North Church for several years. Anita formed the non-denominational singing group, “All God’s Children”, consisting of junior and high school students. The group represented many churches in the community and sang for 7 years together, at churches all over Indiana.


She is survived by her husband, Jerry Blice, and her sister, Gay (Gary) Crane, of Vincennes. Also surviving are her children, Terri (Johan) Jongekrijg, Suzanne (Robert) Gould, Mark (Kelly) Blice, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.


At her request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, September 13th , 2025 at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pet Port or to a charity of choice.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of Aperion Care and AseraCare Hospice for their care and consideration during her final illness. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Anita’s family during their time of loss.
