Obituary for Christian “Chris” L. Steininger Sr.
Chris L. Steininger Sr., 69, of Vincennes, passed away Thursday morning at his residence with his family at his bedside. Chris was born February 26, 1950 in Vincennes the son of Harry and Mary Gouverneur Steininger. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and graduated from Indiana State with a bachelors degree in business administration. He began his career working as a regional sales manager for Schott Gemtron. He married Pamela “Pam” Jobe on December 31, 1970 and they made their life together for 49 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American Legion, VFW, 40/8, Bicknell Country Club and Fox Ridge Country Club, he also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
Chris is survived by his wife, Pam Steininger, their children Jodie McQuern and her husband Brett of Senoia, GA, Tracy Walker and her husband Brandon of Vincennes, Chris Steininger Jr. and his wife Mendy of Vincennes, and Amy Campbell and her husband Derek of Shelburn, IN, . Their grandchildren Sydney McQuern, Taylor Buck, Felicity Walker, Tayte Walker, Christian J. Steininger, Parker Steininger, Jacqueline Steininger, Shay Campbell, and Lucy Campbell. His mother Mary Steininger, brothers John Steininger and his wife Sherry and Jim Steininger of Vincennes, and a sister Theresa McCabe and her husband Mike of Cincinnati, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father Harry Steininger.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday November 16, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Father Tony officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Rivet High School Golf Team.
