Obituary for Prentiss H. "Butch" Ashby Prentiss H. "Butch" Ashby, 68, of Bicknell, IN passed away Tuesday June 20, 2017 at his residence. Butch was born December 11, 1948 in Vincennes the son of John Ashby and Cora Harrington Cazzell. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School and began his career having worked at Wabash Coffee for over 18 and a half years and retired as manager of Airgas Welding Supply. He was a member of Mariah Creek Church and the Edwardsport Masonic Lodge #429. He married Joy McDonald on October 16, 1966 and they made their life together for nearly 51 years. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle as a member of the Goldwing Club of Washington, IN and his family and friends. Butch is survived by his wife, Joy Ashby, their children Jonathan Ashby, and his wife Regina of Kokomo, IN, Mark Ashby, and his wife Heather of Wadesville, IN and Marty Ashby of Bicknell, IN. Their grandchildren, Kristi Sanders (Tyler), Kaitlyn Ashby, Michael Ashby, Mason Ashby, Ethan Ashby, Levi Facemyer and Samantha Propes (Chris). A great granddaughter, Delilah Cay Propes. His sisters, Donna Ashby of Bicknell, IN, Pam Heady of Gosport, IN, Nikki Livingston of Bloomington, IN and Toni Nickless, and her husband Mike of Elletsville, IN. Butch was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Ashby, his parents, and a brother Russell Ray Ashby. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday June 25, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Matt Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's charity of choice.
