Obituary

Obit for Raymond F. Keller The family patriarch, Raymond Francis Keller, of Vincennes, IN, passed away with family by his side on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Ray, as many known him as, was born on May 3, 1940 in Vincennes, Indiana, to the late John G Keller and Agnes (Thomas) Keller. He was a farmer, co-owner of Keller Brother Farms, where he spent his last years sitting in his chair "overseeing" the melon operation. He was a regular attender and member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish. He was a graduate of Central Catholic class of 1958, a member of Eagles Lodge and a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus. His love of his life of 50 years was to the late Patricia (Pat) Kay Keller.  He will be remembered by his family as a kind hearted father and grandfather, a man of wit and sarcasm, an avid Pepsi drinker, and a man who loved a good meal.  Ray was a family man who instilled and taught those around him the values of hard work, the importance of a strong Christian faith, and to cherish family above all. His legacy of good will to all people was and will always be the heartbeat of his family. He is survived by his 5 children. Daughter Janice and the late Jeff Cunningham of Vincennes, daughter Julie and her husband Donnie Gerteisen of Evansville, daughter Karen and her husband Doug Halter of Halterville, son Chris and his wife Kristy Keller of Vincennes, and son Joe and his wife Stephanie Keller of Monroe City. Papa Ray is survived by his 13 grandchildren and 13 great children.  Jericho and  Nathan Quick and children Kirby and Maeley, Zach and Victoria Halter and children Keller and Keegan, Danielle and Bryan Steimel and children Adalee, Kiera, and Emmaline. Jeffrey and Jacquelyn Cunningham and children Emma, Marissa, and little Jeffrey, Jessica and Jonas Hamilton and children Mollie and Samuel, Jeremy and Karisa Cunningham and child Walker, Ashton and Jared Singleton, Lauren Keller, Jack Cunningham, Katie Keller, Chase Keller, Grayson Keller, and Maddi Halter.   Raymond is survived by his 7 siblings Betty Heinz , Pauline Patterson, Gloria (Bill) Townsley, John (Kitty) Keller, Walt (Jackie) Keller, Matt (Rita) Keller, and Mary Ann Canada.   The family invites friends to help celebrate his life Wednesday February 7th at Duesterberg Fredrick Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 7:00 p.m.  The rosary will be led by Deacon Earl Ruppel and Deacon Cletus Yochum Wednesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00am at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church by the Rev David Fleck, Deacon Earl Ruppel and Deacon Cletus Yochum.  He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Pat in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Vincennes Knights of Columbus Counsel #712.
