Richard R. Malott, 75, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2023 at his residence. Richard was born January 16, 1948 in Vincennes the son of Herbert and Mildred Fields Malott. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Sharon Boger on Jan 28, 1968 and they made their life together for 44 years until her death on November 20, 2012. Richard was a heavy equipment operator through the Union Local 841 during his working career. He held memberships in the American Legion, Knox County Sportsman's Club, Coon Hunters Club, and a former member of the Vincennes Boat Club.
He is survived by his children, Amy McCoy, and her husband Greg of Vincennes and Rick Malott, and his wife Birgit of Bicknell, IN. Grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Malott, Kirsten (Shawanna) Malott, Trevor (Makayla) Malott, Greg (Joanna) McCoy Jr, Macie (Josh) Ivers, Courtney (Randy) Stafford, Payton ( Christian) Starnes, Kylie (James) McCoy, TyeBoy McCoy and Taydum McCoy and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Terry Malott of Vincennes, Herb (Lee Ann) Malott of Vincennes and a sister Cindy Faith of Vincennes, IN.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Malott, his parents, a brother, Randy Malott and a sister, Helen Jean Wright.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday December 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the donor's charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Malott family during their time of loss.
