Roy M. Keene, 77 of Ragsdale, IN, passed away Saturday June 13, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Roy was born May 15, 1949 in Vincennes the son of Robert Maxa and Mary Catherine Malone Keene. He married Debra Jackson on March 23, 1977 and they made their life together for 48 years. Roy was a fork lift/heavy equipment operator at Scepter Industries for over 30 years. He attended Asbury Chapel Church; he was a member of the French Club, 40 et 8 and the Bruceville Rod and Gun Club. He was a devoted husband, father and brother.

Roy is survived by his wife, Debra Keene, their daughter, Elena Keene and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William Vernon “Vernie” Keene and Larry Keene. His sisters, Bertha Lagneau, Elma Lee Hollars, Minnie A. Phipps, Jean May, Kay McCrary, Susie Ellerman, Charlotte Smith, Phyllis Keene and Julie Shoptaw.

Funeral services will be celebrated Friday June 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Darrell Weaver officiating. He will be laid to rest in Asbury Chapel Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Asbury Chapel Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist Roy’s family during their time of loss.
