Theresa J. Mercer, 81, of Vincennes, passed away July 1, 2024 at 11:35 AM CST in Evansville at St. Vincent Hospital. Theresa was born May 5, 1943 in Vincennes the daughter of Raymond and Julia Foster Bilskie. After high school, she graduated from Vincennes Beauty College and then received training as a Long Haul Truck Driver. She retired from driving for U.S. Express. She served her country in the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Sergeant, having a strong since of duty, she served as Commander of the American Legion Post 73. She was very proud of her time she devoted to the American Legion. She formerly was a Girl Scout leader and held membership at St. Francis Xavier/St. John Catholic Church.

Theresa is survived by her children, Donald (LaDonna) Speth, Barbara (David) Starnes, Anna (Eric) Collins and Isabella Kline all of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Joboa Mullins, Ty Mullins, David Starnes II and Crystal Kline. 10 Great-grandchildren, a brother, Charles Bilskie of Louisville, KY and two nieces, Tammy Bilskie and Paula Hyslop also survives.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Donald Bilskie.

Gravesite services will be conducted Wednesday July 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, in the Veteran's Section, Fr. Caleb Scherzinger with Fr. officiating. Gravesite Military honors will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Legion Post 73. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist Theresa's family during their time of loss.
