Obituary

William S. Reitmeyer, 88 of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Vincennes passed away at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis on October 14, 2023. Bill was born July 4, 1935 in Vincennes the son of William H. and Alice Sharr Reitmeyer. He was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln H.S. and began a career with Indiana Bell/Ameritech where he retired as a communications engineer. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he was active in various missions for the church. He married Betty L. Chanley on September 4, 1955 and they made their life together for nearly 65 years until her death on January 2, 2020.

Bill is survived by son's, Richard N. Reitmeyer of Indianapolis, IN and Randal D. Reitmeyer, and his wife Judy of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a great-great grandson and a sister Susan K. Johnson of Shelbyville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Reitmeyer, his parents, a grandson Richard Reitmeyer Jr.

Funeral Services will be celebrated Wednesday October 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan P. Rastl officiating. Bill will be laid to rest next to his wife in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Reitmeyer family during their time of loss.
